I doubt this price is accurate.

Very NP. I hope he found something suitable for the PNW...

Kinja'd!!!

The car I'm buying tomorrow (today I suppose) is about 200x less awesome than yours. Guess I'll just have to develop an irrational hatred for you over it now.

That's something I really do not understand about folks out here. I drove almost exclusively RWD when I lived in the snowbelt on the east coast. For some reason people in the PNW "NEED" awd for winter weather. I've only seen one snow storm in 4 years and it was about 4 inches total. That's also the only time I've seen any non liquid winter precipitation in my time here.

Maybe, but hell, for the asking price I don't care if it has an interior.

Was that the time there was ice, and everybody forgot how to drive? Because that was hilarious!

No sadly that happened before I moved out here. I did enjoy watching 4 separate accidents at a nearby stop light during last year's storm in the amount of time it took me to drink a beer and smoke a cigar on my porch :)

It's pretty nuts! Most of it is inexperience, plus marketing on the manufacturer's end saying you "need" this in order to be safe.

I've done RWD for the last ten years in snowy German winters. To be fair though Germans are much more experienced at driving in colder conditions, but they do not automatically go for the AWD option. I am dreading the moment I move back to the states and have to start driving amongst the crazies.

Wow! I'd buy that too. Seems like a too good to be true price, but if he meant $15,000, that'd be super crack pipe.

Hopefully it's not beat to shit.

As the owner of an '04 GTO that I drove through 2 winters (with proper snow tires), it is NOT a good winter car at all. Too low, and too much power even for its traction control system.

Do it. I have an '04, and it's the most reliable thing I've ever owned. I bought mine with 52k on it, currently at 116k, and the only non-maintenance items I've had to do to it are a throttle position sensor (the LS2 is drive-by-wire, so you won't have to worry about that), and an oil pressure sensor that went bad which wouldn't let me reset the oil life monitor.
